“Design is problem solving.”

Over-spending on printing costs can rapidly cause critical damage to marketing budgets — I noticed this red flag when assuming project responsibility for developing new marketing collateral to include with our product shipments.

The previous promotional materials had a print cost of more than three dollars per unit, which resulted from a poorly-designed, double-sided and non-standard card stock that some unknown (and unknowing) person had previously chosen — design nightmare.

I did a complete overhaul on the design to present the information with greater effectiveness and dramatically reduce the production costs by changing to standard dimensions.

Now, the new documents are easily printed in-house and included with outbound shipments at a fraction of the original cost and with no reduction in promotional impact.
